Mandy did a social work degree a few decades ago, and has done some really interesting things - the most interesting though, has been meeting and getting to know a bunch of kids who have been thrown out of mainstream school, or have become infamous for their behaviour.
It has been a joy to learn to understand them, and work out how to be helpful.
She is pleased she was able to write a model that works well for the children as well as for the adults they are involved with.
Jessie is a special buddy who goes everywhere with Mandy, and is an important part of everything.
Kids and adults alike love her and get very attached to her . . .
Mandy is fortunate to have the support of a number of volunteer men and women who care about children and have the grace and humility to be able to regard them as equals.
The friendship they offer to the adolescents, and the connections they form are life changing.
Their work in supporting the children and young people is heart-warming.
